Simon Mignolet says it is vital for Liverpool to record as many point as possible before the New Year.
The Reds currently sit second on the Premier League table with 24 points - four behind league leaders Arsenal - and Mignolet is of the belief that if the Anfield club can continue to pocket the points now then life will be slightly easier come the business end of the campaign.
"We just take games as they come and try to focus on the next game in hand," the Belgian goalkeeper told Sky Sports.
"We try to make sure we get three points there, then do the same the next week. The season is still long and, from now until February, there are a lot of games to be played.
"Last season, I think it was February, March when everybody knew the championship was going to be decided between Manchester City and Manchester United.
"So we just have to focus on ourselves and make sure that, in this time, we get as many points as we can."
