Liverpool in talks with Borussia Dortmund attacker Mario Gotze

Liverpool are in talks with Borussia Dortmund for Mario Gotze.

The Sun says the 2014 World Cup winner for Germany could rejoin former boss Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, with a deal for the attacking midfielder looking likely.

Liverpool wanted to sign the 24-year-old last summer from Bayern Munich – but he opted to go back to his first club Dortmund instead as the Reds could not offer European football.

But Gotze has not played as well as he did in his first spell under Klopp at the Westfalenstadion and wants to move on again, this time to England.

Klopp revealed this week that Liverpool are planning ahead of the summer, saying: “We are in talks with different people – players, agents, all that stuff."

Dortmund paid £20m to re-sign Gotze but will want get that the majority of that fee back.
