Liverpool are in contact with Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay.

During last week's Champions League tie, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was happy to talk up the Germany international, who he worked with at Borussia Dortmund.

And today BILD reports Liverpool are in contact with Demirbay's camp to register their interest.

A move this week is unlikely, but the 24 year-old has been informed Liverpool are monitoring his development this season.

Demirbay recently extended his deal with Hoffenheim to 2021, however interestingly the agreement also includes an affordable buyout clause.
