Liverpool legend Phil Thompson believes that his beloved Reds have a better front three than fellow Champions League finalists Real Madrid.

Many people are talking about the game being a Mohamed Salah vs. Cristiano Ronaldo showdown, but Thompson believes the overall quality of the Reds' front three is higher.

Real manager Zinedine Zidane can choose from the likes of Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio as he picks his starting eleven for the game.

But Thompson is backing Liverpool's attacking trio.

"We have more pace all round and are smarter with our movement so I think, as a three, yes Firmino, Salah and Mane are better than Real Madrid's front three," Thompson told Sky Sports.

"I'd have Firmino over Benzema all day long, Bale has been in and out of the team all season and it is only Ronaldo who has been consistent, so yes I would take our front three over theirs."
