Liverpool icon Phil Thompson wants Javier Mascherano to be "scrubbed from the club's history books"! In his column for the Liverpool Echo, Thommo wrote: "Mascherano completed his move to Barcelona and the least said about him the better. After he refused to play against City, I don't want to even remember Mascherano as a Liverpool player. He should be scrubbed from the club's history books.
"I said last week the club had to stand their ground and ensure he didn't go on the cheap. By agreeing a deal that could be worth £22million I think they did that. But the way Mascherano conducted himself highlighted everything that's wrong about some modern day professionals."
