Liverpool icon Rush: Torres strop shows he cares

Liverpool icon Ian Rush says fans shouldn't be concerned with Fernando Torres' show of frustration during their defeat at Manchester United.

In his column for the Liverpool Echo, Rush wrote: "While his header was sublime, taken with the confidence of man in form, he showed the darker side of his game when taking a divot just before Wayne Rooney placed the ball.

"There were a couple of times, too, when it looked as if his frustrations were going to boil over but the fact he showed his emotions was, in my opinion, no bad thinking - if anything, it showed how much he cares.

"Players of his ilk do not want to be just involved in games, they want to win and Torres is desperate to help Liverpool succeed.

"For that to happen, he needs to receive more service."
