Liverpool icon Dalglish: Why Ferguson continues at Man Utd

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish says Sir Alex Ferguson is driven by seeing his young players at Manchester United develop into world stars.

Dalglish also can't see Ferguson calling time on his career anytime soon.

He told the Mail on Sunday: "I know from my relatively brief time at the Liverpool Academy how much pleasure I got from seeing kids work hard at their game and develop, taking responsibility out on the park.

"You get pride from that and one can imagine what Fergie feels from helping to create legends like Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, who came through the Academy. He also signed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney as teenagers and helped them develop into world stars. This summer he signed more youngsters like Chris Smalling and Bebe, it helps keep him young and enthusiastic.

"People think he might call it a day if he wins a record 19th league title for United this season. I'm not so sure, he might just start planning for No 20, and seeing which young player he can snap up next."
