Liverpool are in talks for Olympique Lyon fullback Aly Cissokho. The Mirror says Cissokho, a left back who can also operate in midfield, is wanted by both the Reds and Newcastle, but he is believed to want a move to Anfield.

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has admitted the club will look for "some solutions", and it is believed they need to balance the books.

That means Liverpool may be able to drive a hard bargain at around £6million for the 24-year-old, as their director of football Damien Comolli has good links with Lyon.
