Liverpool hope to seal a deal for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet by the weekend.

The Daily Express says Mignolet could become a Liverpool player by the end of this week.

He is ready to make the move from Sunderland but the clubs are still haggling over the fee, said to be about £10million.

Manchester United and Arsenal were thought to be interested in signing the Belgian stopper this summer, but Brendan Rodgers has moved swiftly to bring him to Liverpool.
