Liverpool hit the road with Asian tyre manufacturer

Liverpool have announced that tyre manufacturer Maxxis International has renewed its contract as a global sponsor of the club for a further two years, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The renewal takes the deal into a third term, with the partnership having commenced in 2009 and been renewed in 2012. Taiwan-based Maxxis will now sponsor Liverpool until the end of the 2016/17 Premier League season.

As part of the deal Maxxis will benefit from advertising on the LED hoardings at Liverpool's Anfield stadium as well as through the club's digital channels.

Derek McMartin, managing director of Maxxis International, said: "Our partnership with Liverpool has been in place since 2009 and been very beneficial for both parties.

"Asia is now a highly important market for English football clubs, and Europe is a rapidly expanding market for us – so there's a lot of synergy there. Add to that the fact the club has over 4.5million followers on Twitter and 26million on Facebook and it becomes very clear that our two brands combine for the perfect collaboration.

"We're extremely excited to cheer on the team and see how the season unfolds."
