Liverpool hero Jan Molby is convinced they've pulled off a coup in signing Danny Sturridge.
Sturridge will complete his move from Chelsea this week.
Molby told the Daily Star Sunday: "We went into this season knowing that a lack of goals was always going to be a problem and so it has proved. Manchester United show you what firepower can do. They concede so many goals but they still win games because they score so many.
Molby, part of the double-winning side of 1986, said: "We all knew this was a long-term project Brendan Rodgers took on and I expect Liverpool to improve in the second half of the season.
"The manager has always said it will take time and he's going to need another two or three transfer windows to get the squad the way he wants it."
