Former Liverpool defender Stephane Henchoz has jumped to the defence of England coach Roy Hodgson.
Henchoz played for Hodgson with Switzerland and Blackburn Rovers.
He told the Daily Express: "With Roy, you know what to expect. He works hard on the training pitch and prepares his team well.
"As a young player, it is important to know what the manager wants from you and they will get that from Roy. They will know exactly what their jobs are.
"I worked with Roy three times in my career. I think his man-management is very good. He is somebody you can talk to all the time. His office is always open and he will tell you the truth. He will explain why you are not playing and will tell you what you need to do to get back into the team.
"He will put an arm around your shoulder as you walk in from training. You feel he is watching out for you."
