Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard says the club is moving in the right direction under manager Jurgen Klopp.
However, he maintains that the Reds should now focus on cementing their spot among the European elites and work on signing big-name players.
"It was such a key result against Middlesbrough," he told Liverpool Echo.
"To have Champions League football back is very important for this club.
"Now we have to seize the moment. It can't be like it was a couple of years when we got back into the Champions League but it quickly fizzled out. It can't be like that.
"We're in the qualifying stage but you've got to realise that to get to the latter stages of the competition you are talking about top, top class opposition. Top class individuals and managers. It's important that we keep trying to move forward."
