Liverpool ace Craig Bellamy is excited to be facing Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final.

The 32-year-old was born in Cardiff and enjoyed a loan spell there last season, so was delighted when they saw off Crystal Palace in the semi-final on Tuesday night.

And after scoring the decisive goal which sent Liverpool to Wembley, he told liverpoolfc.tv: "The omens were looking good going into tonight after I saw Cardiff go through.

"I was delighted for them and this couldn't be a better final for me.

"Cardiff means so much to me. It's funny how football can work out at times."
