Liverpool have NOT offered the manager's job to Roberto Martinez.
The Sun says Kop sources denied that negotiations had ended in a concrete bid to make Martinez the new boss in succession to sacked Kenny Dalglish.
But Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan reckons Martinez will stay at the DW Stadium even if the Reds make a move for his man.
Martinez, 38, is used to having a free hand at Wigan but Liverpool owner John W Henry wants the Spaniard to work with a director of football.
