Liverpool are facing competition from Serie A club Inter Milan in their pursuit of Fenerbahce defender Caner Erkin.

talkSPORT claims that the Reds have scouted the talented left-back in the past, but now risk losing him to Inter who have emerged strongly on the scene.

The 27-year-old defender is in the last year of his contract and will be a free agent in the summer.

The report states that Chelsea have also expressed their interest in the player, but, at the moment, Roberto Mancini's Inter are favourites to secure his signing.
