Liverpool are eager to hand goalkeeper Pepe Reina a new contract.
The Daily Mail says they plan talks with the 27-year-old Spaniard in January and are ready to offer him a new five-year deal with a big pay rise from £60,000 a week to £95,000 a week.
The Daily Mail says Reina, who started his career with Barcelona, cost £6 million when moving to Merseyside from Villarreal in the summer of 2005 and has since established himself as one of the best keepers in Europe. He made such an impact that he was given a new five-year contract in 2007 but with other leading European clubs eyeing him manager Rafa Benitez wants to tie him up for much longer.
