Liverpool are attempting to convince Barcelona fullback Martin Montoya about a move to Merseyside.
The Daily Star Sunday says Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has earmarked a loan deal for Barcelona's Spanish left-back Montoya, who can also double up as a central defender.
Reds chief Ian Ayre has made multiple trips to Barcelona this month, fueling talk of transfer business with the Spanish giants.
Montoya, 22, comes off contract in June.
