Liverpool great Souness: Man Utd and Arsenal will miss top 4

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes that both Manchester United and Arsenal will miss out on a top-four finish this season.

United and Arsenal were considered as title contenders ahead of the start of the current Premier League campaign but at the moment, the two giants find themselves languishing in 5th and 6th positions in the table respectively.

The best that the two giants of English football can now hope for is a top four finish but Liverpool legend Souness believes both the Red Devils and the Gunners will miss out on Champions League football next season, while Spurs could also miss if they do not successfully navigate the final few months of the season without injured star striker Harry Kane.

He told Sky Sports: "Tottenham got away with it without Harry Kane.

"They have got to get him back sooner or later or they will risk not making the top four.

"The two teams we saw today the managers will be saying, if only we can play like that between now and the end of the season.

"Things can change over nine or 10 games but right now I will say United and Arsenal won't make it."
