Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne is out of England's World Cup qualifier with Scotland.
Clyne has been ruled out of the England squad with a back injury, which means Kieran Trippier is set for his Three Lions debut.
Gareth Southgate has cover in his initial squad with both Tottenham right-backs Kyle Walker and Trippier available.
But Walker is unlikely to play both the World Cup qualifier against Scotland and the friendly vs France, which will allow Trippier an opportunity.
The 26-year-old has been forced to be patient since his move from Burnley to Spurs in 2015 and finally made the step-up this year to the senior squad after being capped at under-21 level.
