Jon Flanagan still has another six to nine months to go before he makes a return to the Liverpool side.
The 22-year old full-back, who signed a new long-term deal on Thursday, sustained a serious knee injury in August last year before suffering a setback in training in April.
That has seen him miss the entire 2014/15 season and he will also be sidelined for much of the rest of the year according to manager Brendan Rodgers.
"He has got a long road ahead of him over the next four to six months but I'm sure he'll get his rewards at the end of that," he told Liverpoolfc.com.
"We're hoping that he can get back fit within the next year; it has been a long journey for him this last 18 months and in particular the last year of injury. Hopefully he can get back fit and get back into the team."
