Liverpool striker Danny Ings admitted to feelings of mixed emotions upon his long-awaited return from his knee problems.
The 25-year-old, who was making his first senior appearance in 11 months, played 90 minutes of the 2-0 defeat to Leicester City in the third round of Carabao Cup.
"It was mixed emotions really," Ings told the club's website.
"You want to get the win and you want it to be the perfect night, getting minutes after the long road to recovery, but it wasn't our night in the end.
"But on a personal note, it's great to be back part of it, being around the lads and getting used to travelling away.
"It was good to be back and hopefully I can build on that."
