Liverpool fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 in a dramatic high noon clash at Swansea City on Saturday.
Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin made one change from last Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Manchester City, with record signing Borja Baston making his first Premier League start in place of Fernando Llorente, who was ruled out with a minor rib injury.
Liverpool, meanwhile, welcomed back Dejan Lovren to the heart of their back four
The match kicked off with Liverpool enjoying early possession, but Swansea carving out a glorious opening for Baston after just five minutes. A superb cross from Wayne Routledge handed Baston a wonderful chance to take the lead, but he could only manage to head the ball over Loris Karius' crossbar.
But the striker made up for the miss three minutes later when he teed up Leroy Fer's opener.
A cross from Swansea's left saw Baston power his header back across goal for Fer to tap in from close range. It was the Dutchman's fourth goal from four games.
Liverpool were rocked and things turned worse when Adam Lallana was forced off with a suspected groin strain on 25 minutes to be replaced by Daniel Sturridge.
Minutes later Baston had another chance - another header - but this time glanced his effort the wrong side of the post. The Liberty was bouncing at this stage, with Swansea producing by far their best 45 minutes of the season.
Liverpool went into the halftime break a clear second best and also with Sturridge booked for diving inside the Swans penalty area.
However, the Reds quickly turned the game around in the second-half. Jurgen Klopp's troops stepped their game up a gear, with Roberto Firmino stinging Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski's palms with a long range drive in the opening exchanges.
The visitors had the scores level on 53 minutes courtesy of Firmino.
Philippe Coutinho's free-kick hit the wall and looped up, but the loose ball was immediately hooked deftly into the area by Jordan Henderson. Firmino found himself free and his header saw the ball nestle into the bottom corner of Fabianski's goal.
Liverpool were now dominating, with Coutinho buzzing around the Liberty pitch. Twice he tested Fabianski with low drives. Sadio Mane had an effort superbly blocked by Kyle Naughton and Nathaniel Clyne also forced Fabianski into a smart save with a stinging shot.
Liverpool were ahead on 84 minutes thanks to a penalty won by Firmino. The Brazilian was nudged in the back by Angel Rangel, with the contact enough for ref Michael Oliver to point to the spot. James Milner duly stepped up to power his spotkick past Fabianski.
Liverpool were deservedly ahead, but almost blew it in injury time when Mike van der Hoorn should've earned a point for Swansea. The ball fell for the Dutchman at the back post, he had an open goal, but amazingly shinned his effort wide.
It left Swansea still searching for a first win since the opening day of the season against Burnley, while Liverpool continued their run after last week's victory over Hull City.
