Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita will undergo scans on Wednesday to understand the extent of a thigh injury sustained while on international duty with Guinea.
Keita had to be stretchered off during Guinea's 1-1 draw with Rwanda on Tuesday.
The Reds flew Keita back on a private jet in order for him to undergo treatment and they now fear he will face an extended stint on the sidelines.
Keita's injury is the latest headache for Jurgen Klopp in what has been a disastrous international break.
Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have all returned to Merseyside in less than peak condition after playing for their respective countries.
