Liverpool fear work permit problems for Augusto Davila

Liverpool's plans to sign Augusto Davila could be thwarted by work permit difficulties.

The Sun says the 17-year-old striker is currently playing for Atletico Penarol in his native South American country where he was spotted by Kop scouts playing for the club's youth side Juveniles Penarol.

He had been trialling with Liverpool for the past fortnight.

He was on target in Liverpool's friendly win over Walsall and top scored at Under-14s, Under-15s and Under-17s at club level in Uruguay.

The main stumbling block for Davila signing for the Kop side is whether he would gain a work permit.

Should Liverpool fail to land the strike ace then club's in Italy and Spain are interested in signing him.

Davila comes from a football family as his grandfather, Walkir Silva, who also played for Penarol, scored against Aston Villa in the 1982 Intercontinental Cup in Japan.
