Liverpool are favourites to sign MK Dons midfielder Dele Alli.
The Daily Star Sunday says they have moved ahead of Arsenal and Tottenham in the £9million battle for Alli.
Kop boss Brendan Rodgers is expected to complete the deal in the January transfer window.
But England Under-19's midfielder Alli could then be immediately loaned back to the Milton Keynes club until the end of the season.
Liverpool are in pole position at the moment to win the battle. Alli signed a three-year contract only last month but that was to safeguard MK Dons' position.
His valuation has risen steadily in the last year, from £2m up to £7m.
With interest growing, Alli is now expected to move for £8m or £9m.
