Liverpool fans have praised Connor Randall after an interview while on-loan with Hearts.

The Liverpool Echo says Randall has been praised by Liverpool fans after requesting to not speak to the Scottish Sun after Hearts' weekend win at Kilmarnock.

The Kirkby youngster moved to the Tynecastle club on a season-long loan last month and started his first game for the club on Saturday.

After the game, there were suggestions Randall had refused to conduct a post-match interview until the reporter from the Scottish Sun left.

Hearts' media and communications officer Phil Turnbull confirmed on Twitter: “Let's clear this up. Connor was happy 2 do press but didn't want T.Sun to be involved. I relayed the message & Connor spoke, but not 2 T.Sun.

“Happy to confirm CR's wishes were respected by everyone that was there. Certainly no drama involved as has been alluded to elsewhere."
