Liverpool fans anger at owners expenses claim

Liverpool supporters fans have reacted furiously to the club's owners charging almost £2MILLION in travel and expenses, reports The Sun. Americans George Gillett and Tom Hicks claimed the figure to "cover travel, legal and personal" costs in the recently-published accounts.

The Spirit of Shankly group are even canvassing members to discover what action can be taken against the Americans.

SoS spokesman James McKenna blasted: "Hicks and Gillett were the multi-millionaires who promised not to do a Glazer.

Yet now fans are not only paying for their takeover but also for them coming over to visit the club.

"They were supposed to bring investment to take the club forward but it turns out we're even paying their travel costs."

Others were equally angered, with 'Redfloyd' writing on the Have you been to Liverpool? site: "It's hardly good PR - perhaps Tom and George are good friends with Hazel Blears?"

'bksreds' added: "Here's me thinking our MPs were money grabbers, they aren't a patch on the Chuckle brothers."
