Liverpool's night went from bad to worse after their Champions League thumping to Chelsea. Skipper Steven Gerrard may have aggravated an old groin injury, says the Daily Mail.

Gerrard is set to go to hospital at some point on Thursday to undergo a scan in order to find the true extent of the injury.

The England international midfielder is said to have left the field at the end of the game against Chelsea in some discomfort.

Worst fears have Gerrard being ruled out for the rest of the season.
