Liverpool face competition for wantaway Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

It's been revealed Real blocked Ceballos from joining Liverpool in January - however, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp remains keen. The German sees Ceballos as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, now of Barcelona.

Don Balon says Klopp faces competition from Roma sports chief Monchi, who saw plenty of former Real Betis whiz Ceballos when in charge of Sevilla.

Monchi is willing to take Ceballos on-loan next season, while Klopp wants an outright deal.

For his part, Real president Florentino Perez would prefer the temporary option, as he still sees the midfielder as a long-term option.
