Liverpool are in talks with the agent of Ajax captain Toby Alderweireld.

De Telegraaf says Liverpool have reached out to Soren Lerby about the prospect of bringing the Belgian to England in the summer.

It's emerged Newcastle United are also in contact with Lerby as they consider Alderweireld a replacement for departing captain Fabricio Coloccini.
