Liverpool face competition from Lyon for Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann.
The 19 year-old has been recommended to Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson for the January market.
However, Lyon have caught wind of Liverpool's interest and made a move to sign the Frenchman.
Lyon plan a major spending spree in January after a poor start to the season and intend to offer €7 million for Griezmann.
