Liverpool are facing a battle to land Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge.

The Daily Star says with Liverpool keen on taking unsettled star Sturridge away from Stamford Bridge, the Blues hope to bring back Romelu Lukaku from his loan spell at West Brom as a replacement.

But Lukaku's reluctance to return to west London means that manager Roberto Di Matteo won't sanction Sturridge's proposed move to Liverpool.
