Liverpool have moved quickly to find a new press officer.

The People says Liverpool have snapped up press officer Matt McCann from Derby County, but better known as Wigan Athletic's old liaison man during their glory spell under his mate Paul Jewell.

McCann will slot in for experienced Paul Tyrrell, who left Anfield only to step into the breach for Ian Ross at Everton.

Ross is said to be 'on a break' after critical emails of his were leaked.
