Liverpool's drab draw with Manchester United delivered Sky Sports their best ratings for three years.

The Daily Mail reports a peak figure of more than 3million tuned in to see Manchester United park a very expensive bus in front of Liverpool's misfiring attack, with an average of 2.8m football fans watching the game at any given time.

The figures are in direct contrast to the revelations last week that Sky's numbers are substantially down compared to this time last year.

The audience figures would have been worrying for Sky, who have only just entered into a record-breaking agreement in conjunction with BT Sport for the right to show live matches from the division over a three-year period.
