Liverpool youngster Danny Wilson is pinching himself over his call-up to the senior Scotland squad.
He's gone from Ibrox obscurity to Anfield stardom in 12 months that have seen Champions League drama, Old Firm showdowns and title glory.
Now he's capped it all with a remarkable Scotland call-up. Wilson is living the dream - and he's still just 18.
Wilson told the Scottish Sun: "It's been an amazing year and I've appreciated everything that has happened to me. The last 12 months have just flown past.
"It doesn't seem that long ago I was making my Rangers debut in a League Cup tie. Now I'm at Liverpool and in the Scotland squad - and I couldn't be any happier.
"But there's never a chance of me getting carried away.
"I couldn't wish for a better family and I'm surrounded by the right people. So I'll stay level-headed about it all - and make sure I continue to work hard to achieve plenty more in football.
"At the moment it keeps getting better and better for me - and I was surprised by the news I was in the Scotland squad. I hadn't long finished training at Melwood when I got a call from Allan Preston who represents the Stellar Group, the firm that looks after me.
"He broke the news I'd been included by Craig Levein - and it was a fantastic moment. I felt disappointed a few days earlier when I discovered I wasn't in the Under-21 squad.
"I'd been a regular for that team. I never take anything for granted - but it was a blow when I didn't see my name included for the game against Northern Ireland.
"My dad joked: 'Don't worry son, it might be because you'll be in the full squad'. I said: 'Aye, good one Dad, but I don't think so'.
"When the news came through he just said: 'I told you so'.
"Now I can't wait to meet up with the squad next week."
