Scotland youth coach Ross Mathie says Liverpool defender Danny Wilson can be inspiration for the next wave of youngsters.
Mathie has seen Wilson make a rapid rise from Rangers to Liverpool and says the next generation should take heart from the Scotland cap.
He said: "The bigger clubs do attract the better players because of their facilities and what they can offer.
They used to not get the first-team opportunities but I think that is now beginning to change.
"If the younger players are good enough then they will get a chance. Danny is the perfect example. He got his chance and then moved south."
