Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is pleased with the partnership struck with Sotirios Kyrgiakos.

The Greece international was outstanding in last week's 2-0 victory over Tottenham.

Skrtel told liverpoolfc.tv: "We are similar types of players, both playing physically. Our game is based on challenges.

"Even in training we start alongside one another often, so it was not an exceptional situation to either of us."
