Liverpool defender Martin Kelly is grateful to manager Kenny Dalglish for his support.

Kelly has been backed by Dalglish in crucial games this season.

"It's always good to know the manager trusts you enough to put you in the side," Kelly told LFC Magazine. "I think he trusts all the players here, based on what he sees in training every day. I think you need that trust as a manager, as well as a player. It works both ways.

"For me to have his trust is fantastic. You're playing for the manager, and for the fans as well. I want to keep working hard to ensure he keeps trusting me.

"The kind of player that Kenny was, and the idol that he is to so many people; to know he's willing to put you in gives you extra confidence. For him to be our manager is fantastic for us players and for the club and I can only see good things happening here."
