Having joined up with the squad this week after his break following Euro 2012, the defender insists he and the players are excited by the ideas of the new manager.
"The training sessions have been enjoyable and it's total football," Kelly told liverpoolfc.com.
"It's hard on the fitness but after the session you really feel as though you have benefited from it and in the long term I think everyone will benefit from this style of play.
"This style suits my game, whether I'm playing centre-half or right-back, and everyone is excited for the new season.
"It's a positive way to play and everyone is enjoying it. I think any fan who has seen the squad train over the past couple of weeks will be really excited about the new season."
