Liverpool defender Johnson joins The Sports Partnership

Liverpool and England defender Glen Johnson has joined London-based athlete management agency The Sports Partnership, reports SportsPro. The former West Ham, Chelsea and Portsmouth full-back joins the firm's impressive roster of sporting talent, which includes Formula One driver Jenson Button, England rugby player Danny Cipriani and Chicago Bulls star Luol Deng.

James Williamson at The Sports Partnership said: "We're delighted to announce Glen as an addition to our roster. We will be offering support on a number of levels to help develop projects that Glen has away from the pitch such as his foundation."

Johnson, a Premier League champion with Chelsea in 2005, added: "I'm pleased to be working with The Sports Partnership and having seen what they've done with other athletes I have no doubt this will be a good relationship."
