Liverpool defender Carragher: We were always serious about Carling Cup

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher admits they've taken the Carling Cup as a serious priority this season.

The Reds will now face Manchester City in the last four of the competition after overcoming Andre Villas-Boas's Chelsea and Carra reckons Liverpool were well worth their victory.

"I think it's fair to say we deserved it," he told liverpoolfc.tv.

"We missed a penalty as well and I don't think our 'keeper had too many saves to make.

"It's a competition we've taken very seriously from the start. You could see that with the team the manager put out."
