Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher wants striker Fernando Torres to commit to the club.
The Spain international's future at Anfield is still clouded with Chelsea and Manchester City hot on the trail and Carragher has urged the gifted goalscorer to pledge his allegiance to the Reds.
"Well, he's our best player," Carragher told Liverpool's official website.
"For me he's probably the best player in the history of the club, alongside Kenny (Dalglish), so it's obviously going to give everyone a massive lift.
"Hopefully Fernando will do the same and we can bring one or two more in so that we head into the season with a real feel-good factor."
