Liverpool defender Carragher waited outside Man Utd dressing room to make his apologies

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher apologised to Manchester United players and staff for his tackle on Nani yesterday.

Carragher's horror tackle on Nani just before the break led to the Portugal winger being carried off with a badly gashed leg.

Carragher received only a yellow card for his challenge, which former United midfielder Ray Wilkins described on Sky as 'the worst tackle of its kind this season'.

The Liverpool defender later waited outside the visitors' dressing room to apologise.
