Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is in line for a shock return to the England fold for the World Cup.
The Sun says three years after he quit international football, England boss Fabio Capello has not given up hope Carragher can be persuaded to change his mind. And the indications are the defender will say yes.
Capello names his provisional squad of 30 on Tuesday and will need an answer this weekend.
Carragher, 32, can cover centre-back and right-back. But, from the player's point of view, it means he will still be a sub, which might not appeal.
With injury concerns over Rio Ferdinand, Ledley King and Glen Johnson, he could be vital.
