Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher admits they are eyeing their titles record - lost to Manchester United this week.
If Kenny Dalglish's side can carry their current form into next season, they could pose a threat to United's bid to land a 20th championship.
Carragher said: "If we want that record back or we want to win leagues ourselves, we can't keep relying on other teams to stop Man United doing it.
"They're a great team and great club and you have to have respect for them.
"The only way of us getting back on top is winning titles, not relying on others."
