Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher played talk of Aston Villa naming Gerard Houllier as manager with a straight bat.

Houllier was in the Liverpool dugout for Carragher's testimonial on Saturday.

Asked about Houllier's move to Villa, Liverpool defender Carragher said: "Yes, I've heard that.

"I am very grateful that he was able to make it for the match today."
