Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has admitted he will have to ­carefully manage his injury-plagued body for the rest of his career.

Agger, 26, has featured in less than 50 per cent of Liverpool matches since signing for the club in 2006.

He has made seven league starts this season and said: "It's not perfect, but it will probably never be that.

"My body might not have been built to play football. You have to learn to live with it and I have done that."
