Liverpool could lose Joe Cole for their looming clash with Manchester United.
Cole's sending off for a challenge on Laurent Koscielny in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal yesterday has given new Liverpool's manager Roy Hodgson a major dilemma.
Cole faces a three-match ban that will include next week's trip to Manchester City and Hodgson must now decide whether an appeal is worth the risk.
If the FA feel the action is frivolous, Cole would also sit out the trip to Old Trafford on September 19.
