Liverpool confirm Adam's absence from FA Cup final, Olympics

Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

The Scotland international has been sidelined since March 21 with a knee injury and soon after he sustained the problem it was apparent he was unlikely to again take part this campaign.

Reds manager Kenny Dalglish has now confirmed that he will be missing the FA Cup final against Chelsea on May 5 and will play no part in the upcoming Olympic Games with Team GB.

"There is no operation needed but he won't play this season," said Dalglish.

"And I would think if they had any designs on having him in the Olympics he wouldn't be fit for that either."
